Right of Access to Information

The Department of National Botanic Gardens is committed to transparency and accountability. Under the Right to Information Act, No. 12 of 2016, citizens may request access to information held by the Department, subject to the provisions of the Act.

How to Request Information

You may request information by completing the Information Request Form (RTI 01) or submitting a written request to the Department’s Information Officer.

Please clearly describe the information you require and provide your contact details so that the Department can respond to your request. If you need assistance preparing your request, please contact the Information Officer.

Appealing to the Designated Officer

If your request is refused, you do not receive a response within the required period, or you believe the information provided is incomplete, misleading, or false, you may appeal to the Department’s Designated Officer in accordance with the Act.

The RTI 10 form is available for submitting an appeal. Please include details of your original request and the reason for your appeal.
